Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Home Health Aide certification preferred
• Prefer a minimum of 6 months of work experience in home care, a skilled nursing facility, or hospital setting, but willing to train the right person
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license with a registered vehicle that is insured and can pass a safety inspection
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English)
• Comfortable with little supervision

Nice To Haves

• Home Health Aide certification
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and using the bathroom
• Perform household duties, including meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Provide patients with mobility assistance
• Follow assignments and guidelines set by RNs, PTs, and/or OTs
• Prepare and submit all documentation by established deadlines in conjunction with policies and procedures
• Report unusual behavior and any other pertinent patient information to supervisor
• Show flexibility in responding to the needs of the patient
• Oversee administration of medications
