About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of a Clinical Supervisor of Home Health, provides personal care, emotional support, and assistance with activities of daily living to patients in the home. This position is responsible for assisting the patient in maintaining good personal hygiene and safe and clean environment.

Requirements

A certified Nursing Assistant course at an approved school.
Must have a valid drivers license and automobile insurance coverage in accordance with Hamilton Health Care System Driver Requirements policy.
Preferably one-year experience in an institutional setting or provided care to patients in a home setting.
CPR techniques and license.
Demonstration of ability to complete personal, environmental and basic unskilled nursing care to include the following; vital signs, S & As, and infection control techniques.
Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and regulations to administer patient care.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to administer patient care.
Skill in documenting and reporting patients care and changes in the patients care.
Interpersonal skills to maintain an effective working relationship with associates, patients, medical staff and the general public.
Ability to react calmly during emergencies.
Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to work independently in patients homes without direct supervision.
Ability to drive self to various locations on a daily basis.
