About The Position

This unique opportunity at BrightStar Care is for an experienced, compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) who desires variety and growth in their career. The role blends hands-on patient care, office involvement, and training responsibilities. It offers flexibility with a part-time schedule of 3 hours per shift, specifically Monday and Friday from 2pm-5pm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Dementia care and be committed to providing exceptional care while also seeking professional and personal growth. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of documented home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, etc.
  • Certified CPR
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance (proof of insurance is required)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
  • Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B
  • Extensive experience in Dementia

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant or certified home health aide program

Responsibilities

  • Provide client-facing care as assigned
  • Provide assistance with daily tasks as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping
  • Provide companionship, personal and hygiene care as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, and assisting with measurements, if necessary
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency of employment
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
  • Assist with basic Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
  • Taking care of Dementia patient
  • Provide light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe home environment
  • Run errands and accompany the client to appointments, including barber visits as needed
  • Provide companionship and support during daily activities to ensure the client's comfort and well-being
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to supervisors or case managers
  • Follow the care plan and communicate regularly with the care team
