About The Position
UPMC Home Healthcare and Family Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dependable Home Health Aide to provide exceptional, one-on-one care to home health and hospice patients throughout Erie County. This field-based role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting patients in the comfort and dignity of their own homes. This position is a full-time, Monday-Friday position from 8:00AM-4:30PM with rotating weekend shifts. If you are passionate about making a difference in patients’ lives, we encourage you to apply!
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Minimum of 75 hours of Nurse Aide training - Required
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Automotive Insurance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Driver's License
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of experience - Preferred
- Certified Nurse Aide - Preferred
- If no previous nurse aide training, applicant may attend UPMC Home Healthcare Nurse Aide Training Course as available upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Providing safe, direct personal care under the supervision of licensed professionals
- Monitoring patients’ conditions and promptly reporting changes to the interdisciplinary care team
- Supporting patient comfort, well-being, and overall satisfaction
- Completing accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
- Collaborating effectively with team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Participating in required meetings, training, and annual competency evaluations
- Adhering to organizational policies, standards of conduct, and compliance requirements
