A Day in the Life of a Home Health Aide As a Home Health Aide, you play a vital role in helping patients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence.

Requirements

  • Active HHA certification in good standing with the Oklahoma State Department of Health
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • We're looking for someone who communicates clearly, stays organized, manages time well, and maintains a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • A genuine desire to help others is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing hands‑on personal care such as bathing, grooming, oral care, shaving, nail care, and dressing
  • Assisting with simple nursing or therapy procedures
  • Supporting patients with ambulation, exercises, and medication administration
  • Helping with meal preparation and feeding when needed
  • Taking vital signs and reporting changes in condition to the nurse
  • Assisting with transfers and post‑therapy rehab activities
  • Offering patient instructions as appropriate
  • Practicing infection control and following universal precautions
  • Recognizing and reporting any suspected abuse per policy and law
  • Occasionally assisting with office tasks, telemonitoring setup, or new‑hire orientation
