Sequoia Home Health is growing and looking for experienced, compassionate Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our team! JOB DESCRIPTION A Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) is a member of the interdisciplinary team and works under the supervision of a registered nurse performing various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. Home health aides are responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.

Requirements

  • Active Home Health Aide Certification through the CA Department of Public Health
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Possess and maintains current CPR certification
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Ability to perform prolonged or considerable walking or standing
  • Ability to lift, position, or transfer patients
  • Ability to lift supplies and equipment
  • Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including: Baths, Back rubs, Oral hygiene, Shampoos, and Change bed linen
  • Assist patients with dressing and undressing
  • Perform nail and skin care to prevent breakdown
  • Assist the patient with toileting activities
  • Keep patient’s living area clean and orderly
  • Assist in feeding the patient
  • Take and record oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered
  • Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care
  • Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered
  • Assist patient in the self-administration of medication
  • Meet safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)
  • Report on patient’s condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse
