About The Position

We are currently seeking a compassionate and patient Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide 1:1 care for an 88-year-old Veteran living at home with his wife. The client is experiencing dementia and is in a transitioning stage, so we are looking for someone who is calm, attentive, and experienced in providing memory care and emotional support. OUR HOME HEALTH AIDES ENJOY SOME EXCELLENT BENEFITS: $16–18/hour Flexible scheduling & work-life balance Meaningful 1:1 care – build a real relationship Stable home environment with spouse present Opportunity to gain hands-on dementia care experience Supportive office team that has your back As a Home Health Aide, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do: Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home Assist with dementia-related needs (redirection, reassurance, supervision) Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies A few must-haves for Home Health Aides: High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in Alabama Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred Dementia or memory care experience strongly preferred CPR certification Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and active Home Health Aide (HHA) registration in Alabama
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
  • Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
  • Dementia or memory care experience strongly preferred
  • CPR certification
