About The Position

Our Mission: Is to provide home care service with love; to enhance the quality of living through our attentive yet subtle style of care; to maintain their dignity and their independence while serving their needs with honor and integrity. After all, it is their home! Guardian Angel Senior Services provides a variety of services to the elderly and disabled in the comfort of their own homes, to maintain the client's independence by assisting with activities of daily living. A Homemaker is recognized as a mature, responsible individual who has been trained to provide a variety of support services as outlined below, which are necessary to maintain a disabled or dependent person safely and comfortably within the home setting.

Requirements

Is at least 18 years old.
Must have access to internet
Driver's License
On hand reliable vehicle
Is flexible, sensitive to the needs of others, reliable, and able to cope with emergencies.
willing to successfully complete the required 60 Hour- Personal care training program as well as the 40-hour Homemaker training or its equivalent for Home Health Aide Training and has demonstrated competency.
Is able to read, write, and speak English.
Is able to carry out and understand directions and instructions.
Is able to record messages and document daily activities.
Is physically and emotionally capable of performing the job.
The Homemaker must attend a minimum of six hours of in-service education. The full-time employee is required to attend the six hours annually. The part-time employee is pro-rated according to hours worked.

Responsibilities

Planning, preparing, and serving meals
Purchasing food and household supplies
Making and changing beds
Cleaning and dusting household supplies
Mopping floors (with a mop) and vacuuming
Cleaning bathroom and kitchen
Washing dishes
Laundering, sewing, and ironing
Taking trash and recycles out.
Supervise and Assist in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Bathing
Dressing
Grooming
Toileting
Assists and guides client in transfer process from bed to chair, commode or other devices
Assists in giving client bath, whether complete, partial, tub, or shower. Observes and reports changes in skin or physical condition.
Provides or assists in oral hygiene, shaving and hair care.
Reminds client to take prescribed medications that are ordinarily self-administered
