About The Position

The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The role involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return visits. The employee will be responsible for achieving sales and profit goals set for the department while monitoring and controlling all established quality assurance standards. Daily functions of department operations will be supported, and the employee is expected to embrace the Customer 1st strategy, encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service. The position also requires demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.

Requirements

  • Minimum effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
  • Must be 18 or older.

  • Retail experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Second language: speaking, reading, and/or writing.

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
  • Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
  • Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions, especially promotions that affect the department.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
  • Demonstrate creative merchandising.
  • Condition all products in assigned sections according to company policy.
  • Understand and perform cashier functions.
  • Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions to notify store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
