About The Position

Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors is an Austin tradition since 1971. Skandinavia sells high-quality furniture, accessories, and artwork from around the world. If you’ve got a keen eye for design and always have your finger on the pulse of industry trends, then we want to hear from you. Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors is searching for full-time home furnishing sales/interior designers who are outgoing, enthusiastic and have a passion for design and quality - helping our customers create the perfect feel and atmosphere in their homes while maintaining high customer service standards.

Requirements

  • Energy, enthusiasm, and patience backed by an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Must have excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; HS Diploma required.
  • Minimum 2 years of proven retail sales/customer service –furniture experience preferred.
  • High-end apparel and luxury retail sales experience considered.
  • Exceptional sales and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work well in a team concept and on your own.
  • Optimistic, outgoing and an energetic personality.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of proven retail sales/customer service –furniture experience preferred.
  • High-end apparel and luxury retail sales experience considered.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take a consultative selling approach to building customer relationships as you help prospective buyer's select home furnishing pieces that best suit their needs.
  • Meet and exceed your monthly sales goals.
  • Build your business by prospecting with new and existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain expert product knowledge on all of our merchandise.
  • Demonstrate design skills, professional communication, and follow-up skills.
  • Maintain the appearance of the store at all times.
  • Attend and participate in weekly store meetings and individual meetings.
  • Develop expert knowledge of our procedures and computer systems.
  • Collaborate on posts for social media.
