The Home Delivery Coordinator is responsible for coordinating home deliveries for the Food for Health and Everyday Eats, known federally as Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), programs, splitting the responsibilities in managing the home deliveries between both programs. This position will oversee the home delivery planning and logistics, scheduling of deliveries, enrollment of participants into appropriate programs, and collaboration with Food Bank of the Rockies’ Program and Operations Department teams to enhance services to Neighbors as needed. This role necessitates a keen eye for logistics and operations, including effective communication skills, and excellent customer service. This position is instrumental to advance the work of Food Bank of the Rockies to connect with neighbors, to forge community-based, neighbor-centered hunger relief systems that both nourish those experiencing hunger and address the root causes of hunger.   • Experience scheduling deliveries preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service in a diverse environment is required; nonprofit or government experience preferred
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies preferred
  • Experience using collaborative tools for file storage and sharing, meeting scheduling, and virtual collaboration preferred.
  • Bilingual required; Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Create daily routes using MyRoute software and vendor portals to optimize efficiency for homebound deliveries
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to Neighbors’ homes in the Denver Metro area
  • Act as the primary communicator with the operations team ensuring they have the necessary information for order readiness, staging, and loading; tracking undelivered or returned products that are returned to the distribution
  • Communicate with drivers and/or neighbors directly to address customer service or delivery issues that arise
  • Lead and facilitate all driver activity, training, safety, and promote a positive experience to maximize retention of delivery staff, volunteers, and third-party delivery companies
  • Oversee the delivery metrics for products delivered and other miscellaneous items for reporting and budget purposes
  • Maintain and update internal databases with status of home delivery boxes
  • Communicate with external and internal teams to create orders in CERES
  • Conduct initial screening for individuals for the Food for Health and Everyday Eats home delivery programs to ensure accurate address and delivery information
  • Communicate with individuals regarding their delivery and program status through phone calls and mail
  • Provide superior customer service internally and externally to help support the program’s effectiveness
  • Coordinate with the volunteer team on the selection and scheduling of volunteers
  • Identify needs and opportunities for improvement to enhance the home delivery program
  • Work collaboratively across departments internally to ensure an effective and efficient operation of home delivery
  • Manage participants’ information within internal databases to maintain accurate records
  • Maintain all compliance and standards with our food safety and company policies, including federal, state, and local regulations
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
