About The Position

White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking an on-call Home Health Aide to join our team. As the largest nonprofit owner/operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest in the country, we are more than just a place to work. Pay Rate: $18.20 - $19.75 Shift: NOC (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) Saturdays - Tuesdays

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Some vocational/technical training in the nursing field specifically with elderly and dementia and/or CNA preferred
Proficiency in use of computer for input of resident information
CPR and First Aid certification required (may be obtained after hire)
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must have clearance with the Department of Motor Vehicles with no serious violations and maintain automobile insurance with coverage acceptable for applicable state.

Final candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, physical abilities test and the Department of Justice Criminal background clearance.

Responsibilities

Engage in our philosophy for "Person-Directed Care"
Provide assistance in the personal care and protection of our residents in their private residence
Assist in dressing, grooming, ambulating, transferring, feeding, bathing, oral hygiene, etc.
Prepare meals and assist in dining activities as needed
Assist and escort residents to medical and social appointments
Perform home management such as housekeeping, shopping, laundry, sorting of mail, etc.
Accurately report unusual symptoms and problems of residents to supervisor
Attend and actively participate in training sessions and meetings as appropriate
