As a home care aide, you'll get to support seniors through medical, emotional, and cognitive challenges to help them thrive in the comfort of their homes. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO: Build trust and personal relationships with seniors Assist seniors with all ADL's, especially helping with bathing, toileting/incontinence care, and evaluation of vital signs and changes in condition in seniors Learn and engage seniors with memory-loss in games, mind & coordination activities, and in reflecting and enjoying the best memories they can recall Delivering all the activities of a custom-designed care plan, and communicating changes and developments hand-in-hand with care managers PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting: Frequently lift 35 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs during your shift. Client Assistance: Support clients with transfers and repositioning in beds, wheelchairs, or other surfaces using gait belts, slide boards, or mechanical lifts (when available). Team Lifts: Perform two-person assists for clients who require full support or cannot bear weight. Mobility Support: Push or pull wheelchairs, occupied beds, or medical equipment across various surfaces (e.g., carpet, tile, ramps), which may require up to 75 lbs of initial force. Movement & Endurance: Be comfortable with kneeling, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods throughout your shift.
