ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Performs ECG’s in a variety of locations throughout the hospital. · Performs Holter Monitor Scanning. · Performs Cardiac Stress Testing with both pharmacological and exercise stress. · Edits and types ECG reports and provides copying and filing services for department. · Ability to perform on call function as needed. · Transports patients via wheelchair or cart. · Maintains ECG and office supply inventory · Accurately resolves ECG and office equipment problems without supervision. · Completes patient registration and MUSE database management, system set-up and trouble shooting including: o Selecting the correct Corporate Patient Index (C.P.I.) number o Pre-cert requirements for all types of registrations…i.e.: inpatients, ER, observations, and outpatients o Knowledge of coordination of benefits, liability information, and areas of third party payors, insurance and regulatory requirements · Maintain knowledge of confidentiality laws and third party liability laws · Verify all insurances through appropriate resources as needed (EG: calling, audio, Blue Cross, FSS) MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: · Esophageal pH Monitoring. · Assists in training of ECG trainees. · Assist in other projects as assigned by manager. · Assists other team members as needed to complete duties. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: · High school diploma or GED required. · Meets all requirements of the ECG Technician Trainee job. · Satisfactory Competency in Holter Monitor Scanning or Cardiac Stress Testing including On-Call or Patient Registration and MUSE database management, system setup and trouble shooting. · Completion of the Mercy ECG Arrhythmia Recognition course or an equivalent course.. · Demonstrates leadership through participation in new ECG Tech orientation and training and performance improvement activities. · Current BCLS certification. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. · Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
