Key Position Details: 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two-week pay period) 8-hour, day shifts No weekends. Supports the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions by assisting with cardiac stress testing, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), and conducting Holter monitor procedures. Contributes to efficient operations through chart preparation, patient rooming, vital sign collection, and ensuring a smooth patient experience and deliver high-quality care in a clinic setting. May be responsible for analyzing Holter monitor data ranging from 24 hours to 14 days, including superimposed scanning, heart rate variability assessments, and QT interval and pediatric program evaluations. As part of a larger cardiovascular care team, this role participates with the physician, advanced practice providers and nurses in delivering timely, quality care and services to patients in the cardiovascular clinic setting. May provide services across multiple facilities.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program (certificate, diploma, degree) in a healthcare-related field such as CNA, MA, LPN, or other healthcare sciences such as exercise physiology or exercise science, cardiology or EKG technician, EMT or paramedic.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare-related setting which may include direct patient care, experience in specialty or primary care clinics, hospitals, long-term care facilities, or other healthcare delivery environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training as EMT, Cardiology Technician, EKG Tech, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree exercise physiology or related field.
  • 6 months in direct patient care in a cardiovascular setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and helps facilitate patient cardiac stress tests including treadmill, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and echo stress tests, as prescribed by providers.
  • Ensures complete and accurate documentation of stress test.
  • Maintains and cleans testing equipment to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
  • Applies holter monitors to patients, ensuring proper connection and functionality.
  • Provides clear instructions to patients on usage and care.
  • Completes proper documentation, uploads and analyzes recorded data as appropriate.
  • Completes billing process.
  • Maintains and cleans monitors to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
  • Facilitates and participates in the continuum of cardiovascular care in partnership with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
  • Completes visit preparation, room patients, gather applicable information and ensure complete and accurate patient records.
  • Educates patients about planned procedures, their heart conditions, and the importance of the tests.
  • Ensures patient comfort and safety during tests.
  • Supports patients in the clinic setting, providing a safe and positive experience.
