Open 7-days a week, our facility offers an arcade of games, bocce ball, bouncy houses, wall climbing, cornhole, darts, pizza, sushi, tapas, a vast beer wall and so much more. Job Summary: Under direct supervision, the Hockey Scorekeepers is the official who manages the scoreboard and keep track of player statistics for both youth and adult recreational games. The Scorekeeper is considered the third official on the rink and must be a dependable set of eyes during each game. The Hockey Scorekeeper works closely with referees, timekeepers, and other game operations staff to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Physical fitness and stamina to keep up with the fast-paced nature of the game
  • Irregular working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, are common during the hockey season.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and focus on scorekeeping duties
  • Manual dexterity to operate scoring equipment and record information accurately.
  • Good vision and hearing to track the action of the games.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hockey experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at the game well in advance to set up the scoring table and equipment.
  • Verify that all scoring equipment, including the scoreboard and computer systems, are in proper working condition.
  • Ensure all games begin only at their scheduled start time.
  • Accurately record goals, assists, penalties, and other game statistics in real-time using electronic or manual scoring systems.
  • Update the scoreboard and game clock following each goal or penalty.
  • Communicate with game officials and timekeepers to ensure the accurate recording of events.
  • Diligently PAYS ATTENTION to the game in front of the scorekeeper.
  • The Scorekeeper may be needed, by the Check In, to perform various tasks when a forfeit occurs.
  • Maintain up-to-date rosters for both teams, including player names and jersey numbers.
  • Verify player eligibility and communicate any discrepancies to the appropriate authorities.
  • Be on the same page as the Referees, Check In Desk and League Director
  • Begin every score sheet with the correct heading of names (SK/REF/REF)
  • Mark GP for each person on the score sheet.
  • Record and time penalties, ensuring that players serve the appropriate penalty duration.
  • Notify referees and coaches when penalties are set to expire.
  • Compile and record comprehensive game statistics, including shots on goal, face-off wins, and other relevant data.
  • Prepare and distribute final game reports to team officials and league representatives.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with referees, coaches, players, and fellow game operations staff.
  • Address inquiries and resolve scoring-related disputes professionally and promptly.
  • Verify and confirm the final game score and statistics.
  • May assist in emergency protocols.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to emergency procedures, including evacuation and first aid, as required.
