About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Hockey Director, the Ice Arena Manager or the Facility Manager, the part time hockey instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating hockey development classes. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public.
Ability to instruct classes and evaluate students.
Above average knowledge of Hockey.
Know policies and rules as it pertains to the Ice Arena
Be at least 16 years of age.
Be a USA Hockey Member.
Be certified with the Level 1 or higher CEP.
Or willingness to obtain CEP certification.
CPR/First Aid Certified.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
Teach all assigned group lessons in an enthusiastic and organized fashion.
Maintain weekly class attendance sheets.
Verbally communicate progress of students and promote rink activities to parents.
Secure substitutes for classes that they are unable to teach and to notify the Hockey Director of any such situation.
Follow all rink policies and registration procedures.
Available to the parents of students to answer questions.
Evaluate student’s progress at the end of each session and communicate the results with parents.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Other related job duties as assigned.
