About The Position

The Hockey Development Ambassador role is designed for energetic and motivated individuals who are passionate about promoting the sport of hockey within the Tampa Bay Area. This part-time position focuses on supporting youth hockey initiatives, with the primary goal of introducing children to the game of hockey, mentoring young players, and fostering a love for the Tampa Bay Lightning. The ambassadors will play a crucial role in the development of hockey programs and events that engage the community and encourage participation in the sport. As a Hockey Development Ambassador, you will be responsible for setting up and executing ball hockey clinics in various locations, including schools, community centers, and outdoor rinks established by the Lightning Foundation. You will also coach ice hockey programs alongside alumni and full-time staff, covering a range of activities from Learn to Skate to Rookie League clinics. Your involvement will extend to assisting with youth hockey camps during summer and holiday breaks, providing both on-ice and off-ice support to ensure a positive experience for all participants. In addition to coaching and clinic execution, you will act as a league representative and scorekeeper at Lightning High School Hockey League games, contributing to the smooth operation of these events. Your role will also include supporting the Lightning Heroes League by assisting with scorekeeping and other off-ice tasks. Major events such as Hockey Fest, Hockey Day, and Girls Hockey weekend will require your assistance in execution, showcasing your ability to manage and promote hockey development initiatives. The position also seeks individuals who are particularly interested in coaching girls' hockey, emphasizing the importance of supporting the growth of female participation in the sport. This role is not only about teaching hockey skills but also about creating lifelong fans of the Tampa Bay Lightning and fostering a vibrant hockey community.
