This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Makena Golf & Beach Club, set on Maui, HI. Makena is seeking an HOA Technician to join the HOA Department . The HOA Technician maintains all building equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment, and maintenance/cleaning equipment. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

  • Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members/guests, and team members.
  • Inspect all work to ensure the highest quality of service.
  • Maintains the exterior of residences for safety and environmental aesthetics which includes cleaning maintaining homeowner and common areas.
  • Performs minor building, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical, carpentry, appliance and painting repairs.
  • Performs general repair and maintenance of appliances in homes.
  • Performs minor home repairs at the direction of HOA leadership.
  • Execute member requests promptly and with professional demeanor.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Report any emergency needs to HOA leadership.
  • Secure properties upon members/guests departure.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years hands-on experience with HVAC and electrical equipment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Proficiency in general maintenance and use of hand tools, including painting, sanding, basic electric, and snow removal.
  • Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
  • Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building’s electricity.
  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (60) pounds.
  • Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship, preferred.
  • $32/hr
