About The Position

All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with VITAS Healthcare Corporation’s policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments, and governmental regulations. • Guides and directs Operation Managers and Supervisors in the development, production, promotion, and financial aspects of HME Solutions products and services. • Responsible for all aspects of operation of the multiple HME locations (as separate Operating Units). • Maintain and develop policy and procedures for HME. • Responsible for the purchasing of equipment for the HME department. • Identify new and/or improved procedures, forms, and systems which support or enhance the operations of equipment and supplies. • Identify computer revisions and coordinate with the Regional Director of Operations to support department efficiency, operating procedures, and reports. • Coordinate with Regional Director of Operations and Contracts Management department the selection of vendors, negotiate the purchasing and contracts. • Responsible for the monthly operating budget/expenses, annual capital expenses, accurate G/L coding of invoices, entering and monitoring payroll and ongoing monitoring of all activities. • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment, vehicle, and facility. • Evaluate operations of department and identify improvement opportunities. Utilize Performance Improvement concepts: assist in developing standards and reports of functions of department. • Evaluate and present new products and provide outcomes of evaluations. • Collaborate with Team Managers reviewing special order supplies and special equipment requests. • Together with the Operations Manager, ensure adequate on-call coverage is being provided for and that there is a “Manager On-Duty” to troubleshoot emergencies or give needed guidance. This responsibility will be shared with the Operations Manager. • Ensure necessary compliance of Federal Vehicle Safety, OSHA, DOT, FDA, and Accreditation statutes and regulations concerning vehicle operation, safety and infection control, equipment and prescription medical grade oxygen tracking and recall system. • Performs related duties as required. Requirements

  • 4 years minimum experience of management/supervisory in delivery of home medical equipment and purchasing of supplies.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations up to 30% of the time.
  • Working knowledge of home medical equipment and medical supplies.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferable but may be substituted by work experience.
