About The Position

The HMDA Supervisor at Plains Commerce Bank is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting requirements. This role involves supervising HMDA Compliance Analysts and coordinating efforts to maintain accurate and timely reporting to regulators. The supervisor acts as a mentor and resource for the team, ensuring that all aspects of HMDA auditing are conducted effectively and that the bank's leadership is informed of compliance status and risks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Understanding of federal and state banking laws, including Reg C - HMDA.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing HMDA compliance team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite with the ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain procedures on the end-to-end process of auditing HMDA reportable and non-reportable loans.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes regarding HMDA.
  • Serve as a HMDA compliance resource on projects during the implementation of new products, processes, and services.
  • Interact with Management to coordinate appropriate responses to identify HMDA risk within the organization.
  • Oversee the HMDA Compliance Analysts and ensure the team is on track for submission.
  • Provide oversight of reviews on all new loan applications to ensure HMDA data is complete and accurate.
  • Provide oversight over HMDA remediation to ensure all errors identified have been corrected prior to submitting the LAR.
  • Make recommendations to the VP Compliance - Mortgage for improving compliance systems and appropriate corrective action of deficient areas.
  • Lead monthly HMDA collaboration meetings with the business lines.
  • Prepare monthly summary reports for management and Compliance Committee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
