About The Position

As the oldest Life Plan Community in the region, we’re a not-for-profit community operated by Brazos Presbyterian Homes, Inc., dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults of all faiths. We offer luxurious independent living, combined with a seamless continuum of care including assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation all on a single campus. We are seeking a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as a CMA in our Assisted Living Facility. This person will have a genuine interest in working with older adults and be able to engage, motivate, and support both residents and fellow team members. Requirements

  • Certified Medication Aide with a current State of Texas license.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant with a current State of Texas license.
  • Must be able to read regulations and write clearly.
  • Must be able to communicate in courteous, friendly manner.
  • Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care according to Physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized medication aide practice, established standards, and administrative policies.
  • Assists in examinations and/or treatment of residents and carries out orders.
  • Has the skill to monitor medication administration and notify Charge Nurse in the event of a change in the resident’s condition.
  • Accurately administers prescribed medications, responds to changes in medical condition, medications or other circumstances requiring special care needs and performs first aid as required.
  • Orients residents and staff to emergency procedures and responds to all emergency situations.
  • Completes and signs incident reports and provides follow-up as required.
  • Assures that all resident medication records are accurate, complete and all mandatory forms are on file.
  • Through familiarity and application of facility policies and procedures, assures that medication aide care is practiced in full accordance with regulatory requirements, facility quality standards, and resident rights.
  • Monitors resident environment to ensure all safety and sanitary regulations and quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
