Note\: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location and is determined by employment status Job Summary Under general supervision, performs HLA antibody, flow cytometric and molecular testing (including high resolution sequenced based HLA typing, intermediate level SSO HLA typing, and STR testing) for support of the bone marrow and solid organ transplant programs, disease association typing, and platelet therapy while meeting all standards set by governing bodies an adhering to all written and approved procedures and/or instructions. Support the standards set forth in the DMC’s Code of Conduct by creating an atmosphere of commitment to legal and ethical standards, and as directed, implementing external and internal audit recommendations. Monitors activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations JCAHO requirements, and DMC policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology, related science or clinical discipline, or Canadian degree in clinical discipline and completion of a Canadian accredited Technologist program.
  • Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, AMT, Canadian CSMLS, NCA or HLA ACHI within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Performs HLA antibody, flow cytometric and molecular testing (including high resolution sequenced based HLA typing, intermediate level SSO HLA typing, and STR testing) for support of the bone marrow and solid organ transplant programs, disease association typing, and platelet therapy while meeting all standards set by governing bodies an adhering to all written and approved procedures and/or instructions.
  • Support the standards set forth in the DMC’s Code of Conduct by creating an atmosphere of commitment to legal and ethical standards, and as directed, implementing external and internal audit recommendations.
