About the position

Haskell Knox Shared Service Arrangement (HKSSA) provides services to the school districts of Knox City-O'Brien CISD, Munday CISD, Paint Creek ISD, and Rule ISD. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive educational environment where all students can reach their full potential. As part of our commitment to supporting the holistic development of our students, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Diagnostician to join our team. The Educational Diagnostician will work within the public school setting to assess and identify students' learning needs, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive appropriate educational interventions. The role involves ARD facilitation, conducting formal assessments, interpreting results, and making data-driven recommendations to support students' academic success. Both full-time and part-time positions will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized tests and informal assessments.
  • Observe students in various educational settings to gather data on academic and behavioral performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' specific learning needs.
  • Ensure that IEPs are implemented effectively and monitored for progress.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, school administrators, and other professionals to support students' educational goals.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on IEP preparation, planning and development.
  • Provide consultation to school staff on instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of intervention plans.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, evaluations, and IEPs.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing assessment findings and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations and policies related to special education.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of special education.
  • Attend professional development workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Special Education Director.

Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • Valid certification as an Educational Diagnostician in the state of Texas
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding special education
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals
  • Proficiency in using assessment tools and technology for documentation and reporting
