About The Position

A HIV Testing Program Specialist contributes to AHF by providing rapid-result HIV testing & prevention counseling, as well as to assist with program services for People with HIV. This includes services under the Ryan White Part A programs: Emergency Financial Assistance & Case Management. These services ensure that People Living with HIV/AIDS are able to maintain their health care, to ensure those at risk know their HIV status by conducting rapid-result testing, and to provide them with options for risk-reduction interventions. A HIV Testing Program Specialist enhances the reputation of AHF by responding to meet the diverse range of needs for People Living with or at-risk for HIV. These supportive services for Persons with HIV help ensure that they are able to maintain life-saving treatment. The focus on prevention in this role brings numerous opportunites for outreach initatives, and to collaborate with community partners. The Program Specialist is a community leader who can present HIV information to groups, and provide individualized linkages to key resources for optimal health outcomes. You will be a passionate advocate for our top initiatives. To be successful as a HIV Testing Program Specialist it is crucial to ensure that the AHF core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that your do. AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders. The HIV Testing Program Specialistwill work as a part of a close knit team to meet the goals of the program and the public health goal to help end the epidemic. This includes working closely with the program Director, Case Managers, and other Specialists. The Program Specialist is essential to the succss of the Testing as Prevention Program and the Ryan White Part A Programs at Thursday’s Child, a proud affiliate of AHF.
