UNICEF is the world's leading children's rights organization, working for 70 years in 190 countries to promote children's survival, protection, and development. It is the largest provider of vaccines for developing countries, supporting child health, nutrition, water and sanitation, quality basic education, and protection from violence, exploitation, and AIDS. UNICEF is funded by voluntary contributions and has over 12,000 staff in more than 145 countries. Its mission is to uphold the rights of every child, with equity as a core principle. The Global Programme Division (GPD) provides strategic leadership, policy direction, and technical expertise, supported by Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in Nairobi, Panama, Amman, and Bangkok. UNICEF’s HIV/AIDS programme aligns with the Global AIDS Strategy 2021–2026 and aims to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030, focusing on children, adolescents, and pregnant/breastfeeding women in high-burden settings. Key priorities include eliminating vertical transmission of HIV, syphilis, and Hep B, scaling up paediatric and adolescent treatment, combination prevention for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), and addressing social and structural drivers of HIV vulnerability. UNICEF collaborates with governments and strategic partners to mobilize resources, strengthen health systems, and support country-level implementation. The purpose of this advertisement is to establish a pre-qualified roster of HIV/AIDS technical experts to provide specialized, time-bound, deliverable-based technical assistance to UNICEF Country Offices, Regional Offices, and Headquarters on an as-needed basis from 2026 to 2029.
