About The Position

West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking a full-time faculty member (Instructor) for the Histotechnology Program, Division of Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics, within the Department of Pathology, Anatomy, and Laboratory Medicine in the School of Medicine. The Division consists of three NAACLS accredited programs; two undergraduate, Medical Laboratory Science and Histotechnology, and one graduate, Pathologists’ Assistant. The School of Medicine is part of a thriving academic medical center which also includes the Schools of Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and Public Health. Together, the five Schools provide robust opportunities and programs for interprofessional education, collaborative practice and research. The primary responsibility of this position is teaching laboratory courses within the Histotechnology Program. Other responsibilities include management of student laboratories, student advising and recruiting, secondary teaching assignments, and participation in service activities for the program, university, and/or profession.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science related field
  • National certification as a Histotechnologist
  • One (1) year of recent clinical experience
