The histotechnologist will perform Mohs lab procedures as outlined in the procedure manual, working in direct contact with the Mohs Surgeon. This role involves completing a minimum of 10 Mohs cases a day with satisfactory quality, overseeing all patient logs, and maintaining CLIA requirements. The histotechnologist will perform technical histology tasks and procedures including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, immunohistochemistry, accessioning, equipment preventive maintenance, quality control, inventory management, supply ordering, data gathering and reporting, as well as slide and block filing and retrieval. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot stainers, cryostats, and other instruments, along with knowledge of reagent use, storage, and safe handling, as well as lab standards set by OSHA and CLIA. Daily cleaning of the lab and equipment is also part of the responsibilities.
