About The Position

As one of the largest and busiest Anatomic Pathology labs in New York, NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center has set the standard for our field, and provides our team with a high level of clinical interaction. Our fully-automated Histology lab enables expedited processing, including a large volume of diversified specimens. We are seeking a motivated grossing professional who is looking to take the next step in their career. Perform all routine procedures as a Histotechnologist to include grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, special staining and distribution using state-of-the-art equipment. This is a full time day shift position working 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday plus rotating holidays. Location is our Weill Cornell campus on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Science and completion of an approved Histology accredited program OR a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department or certified as a Histology Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Must obtain the NYS License within 6 months of hire if a new hire is pending a license.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year experience in Histology.
• Experience with special staining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform all routine procedures as a Histotechnologist including grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, special staining and distribution.
• Utilize state-of-the-art equipment in the fully-automated Histology lab.
• Process a large volume of diversified specimens.
