About The Position
Michigan Medicine is seeking a Histotechnologist to join our team. This position involves performing grossing of simple biopsies, processing of tissue, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping, and frozen sectioning in a high-volume academic environment. The successful candidate will also perform immunohistochemical stains, direct immunofluorescence, muscle histochemistry, and histochemical stains while maintaining accurate records of quality assurance and quality control. Additionally, the role requires maintaining lab equipment in a safe and efficient manner and performing specimen accessioning, including manual and computerized data entry. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
