About The Position

The Histology tech prepares tissue and body fluid specimens sent for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist, performing any special staining techniques and/or immunoperoxidase techniques requested by the pathologist. He/She performs appropriate clerical and computer applications necessary to process and charge these specimens. The Histotechnician participates in educational and training activities and may participate in routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

Requirements

• Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
• Degree in Biology or Allied Health field or experience in the medical field with Medical Terminology.
• Eligible for training in a Histology Laboratory.
• One year of experience preferred in the health field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
