About The Position

Responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, and staining. Performs routine and special histology including advanced immunocytochemical and histochemical testing. Recognizes procedural, instrument and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnologist. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors. Prepares reagents, stains and solutions according to guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in an appropriate science field.
• Histotechnician HT(ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certified, or eligible in 1 year.
• Prefer 1 year in Histology Lab comparable to UVMMC.
