Histotechnician (HT)
About The Position
Apex Skin is a physician-led and rapidly growing dermatology and pathology practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care and diagnostic accuracy. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnician to support our pathology team by preparing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination. This role is responsible for all aspects of specimen processing, including accessioning, embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining specimen integrity and laboratory compliance standards throughout all stages of processing.
Requirements
- Completion of a NAACLS-accredited histotechnology program
- OR Associate degree with at least one year of histopathology experience under a pathologist
- ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
- Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain specimen integrity
- Proficiency with laboratory systems and documentation practices
Nice To Haves
- Experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC) preferred
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred
