POSITION SUMMARY: The Histotech at our Pinehurst location will be entrusted with performing histotechnical procedures that are critical for patient diagnosis and care. This role requires precise technical skills and adherence to established protocols to ensure the highest quality histological results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Histotechnology or a closely related field.
  • Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in histotechnology is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all laboratory procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in histotechnology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, section, and stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue samples for microscopic examination.
  • Perform routine and specialized histological techniques to produce high-quality slides.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of stains, reagents, and the overall preparation process.
  • Maintain proper documentation of laboratory processes and results in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations in the laboratory environment.
  • Contribute to laboratory quality assurance programs to monitor and improve histological practices.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in histotechnology.
  • Collaborate effectively with other laboratory staff and clinical teams to promote excellent patient care.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the laboratory supervisor.
