Requirements

• HT Certification and ASCP Certification preferred.
• Laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of Histopathology technical procedures under direct supervision.
• Retrieve and verify patient samples.
• Track specimens and accession them appropriately.
• Process tissue specimens using various protocols.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Perform Hematoxylin and Eosin staining and coverslipping techniques.
• Assemble and distribute cases, handling outside/consultation materials.
• Prepare reagents and review pending lists/logs.
• File and retrieve tissue blocks and slides, ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
• Answer phones and actively partner with team members to foster an inclusive work environment.
