As our Office Manager, you will guide and mentor student office staff, provide operational support to faculty and students, manage department communications, and oversee events for the department. This part-time position provides a great opportunity to work closely with dedicated students, staff, and faculty to provide a fulfilling academic experience.

Requirements

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor’s Degree or four years of office experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to keep confidential information
  • Public relations skills and ability to work with people with a variety of ages and backgrounds
  • Data entry skills and public relations skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Liberal Arts (History, English, Humanities, etc.) and 2 years of experience in an office setting
  • Supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with standard office software programs (MS Office) and university systems (Workday)
  • Knowledge and experience with Canva, Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with higher education

Responsibilities

  • Mentor student office staff, leading and motivating through engagement, coaching, team building, and employee development
  • Answer entry level questions, conduct annual audits of records and materials, and coordinate all department office needs
  • Prepare each semester/term’s academic class schedule, arrange travel for campus guests, and coordinate faculty annual stewardship process
  • Coordinate recruitment and student engagement events and organize department events
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement outreach strategies and event marketing materials that will attract prospective students
  • Execute a comprehensive social media strategy, oversee creation and distribution of regular newsletter, manage department websites, and update public displays in department spaces.
