About The Position

The Department of History and Geography at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time assistant professor in US military and diplomatic history. PhD is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will help support the department’s History Education program, teach courses on revolutionary and early national US history, as well as the introductory survey US History to 1877.

Requirements

• An earned Ph.D. in history conferred by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution.
• Teaching experience in higher education is preferred.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to transformative education.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester (12 credit hours) in the undergraduate curriculum.
• Support the department’s history core and introductory-level surveys.
• Opportunity to teach specialized undergraduate/graduate courses at upper levels.
