  • Review and evaluate curriculum to meet student interests and needs.
  • Coordinate with adjunct faculty to enhance consistency of lecture/laboratory content.
  • Prepare lectures and laboratory materials, including selecting textbooks and creating handouts.
  • Present lecture/laboratory information clearly and logically, encouraging student participation.
  • Develop quizzes and examinations to evaluate student progress fairly.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and shared governance activities.
  • Hold regular office hours and provide academic advice to students.
  • Master's in history or Bachelor's in history and Master's in political science, humanities, geography, area studies, women's studies, social science, or ethnic studies.
  • Experience in curriculum development and student performance evaluation.
  • Ability to support historically underrepresented and underserved students.
  • Experience with culturally-responsive teaching strategies.
  • Familiarity with equity-minded practices in education.
  • Placement on the Faculty Salary Schedule based on experience and education.
  • Membership in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS).
  • Sick leave and other leaves as per collective bargaining agreements.
