About The Position
Perform routine and special procedures on patients' tissue specimens in preparation for pathological examination.
Requirements
- Active ASCP HT or HTL Certification
- Alternatively if an individual is not ASCP certified they must be eligible for certification in order to be considered and have at minimum one full-time year of acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory including experience in tissue fixation, embedding/microtomy, tissue processing, staining, and laboratory operations. (If not certified at the time of hire, must obtain certification within a year of hire)
Responsibilities
- Perform testing and interpret and verify results.
- Adjust to fluctuating workloads.
- Perform quality control procedures and documentation.
- Execute corrective actions as appropriate.
- Document out-of-control situations providing details, results, and corrective actions taken.
- Follow procedures and perform and document instrument maintenance.
