Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a formal training in Histology laboratory technology OR Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
• Certified as an HT/HTL (ASCP) or eligible to take the HT/HTL (ASCP) exam. Certification eligible applicants must pass examination within eighteen (18) months after school graduation or after moving to the state of Georgia.
• Three (3) years' experience in a pathology laboratory.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards.
• All applicants must submit to and pass a Color-Acuity screening.
