About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a dedicated Histotechnician to join our team. As a Histotechnician, you will play a crucial role in preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination by pathologists. Your work will contribute to accurate diagnoses and impactful healthcare decisions.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Histotechnology or related field preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred but not required.
• Previous experience (6+ months) in a histology laboratory is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in histological techniques.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to quality and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures.
• Ensure all specimens are prepared according to established protocols and maintain high-quality standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Accurately record and maintain data related to specimen preparation and laboratory procedures.
• Work closely with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate results.
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA standards.
