About The Position
The Histology Technician – Unlicensed prepares tissue sections for subsequent microscopic examination by the Pathologist. The Histology Technician performs periodic maintenance on instrumentation in the histology lab, maintains an inventory of reagents and other consumables, and maintains records as required. Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field required.
- Detail oriented
- Quickly able to spot errors or inconsistencies

- Excellent communication
Nice To Haves
- One year of hospital laboratory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares human tissues from surgical and diagnostic sources, employing established techniques for fixation, dehydration, embedding, sectioning, and staining of the specimens.
- Prepares and maintains dyes, stains, and other solutions.
- Responsible for following all pathology policies and procedures.
- Files blocks, slides, and paperwork.
