About The Position

To prepare tissue specimens for pathologic exams to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment according to established protocols (CAP and CLIA).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of formal training program and/or ASCP certification required.
• Must be able to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
• Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
• Ability to set priorities, solve problems, and respond quickly to emergency requests.
• Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) and assist in meeting the patient's needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a Histology Department preferred.
• Certified as a HT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
