Requirements

Bachelors in histotechnology, laboratory science, obtained from an accredited institution, OR bachelors in biology or chemistry with education /training equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Experience within a clinical or anatomic pathology department.
6 months’ experience as Histotechnician.

Responsibilities

The Histotechnologist functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for pre-analytical specimen preparation and processing; embedding, microtomy and maintaining the equipment under the direction of Histology/Pathology department leadership, Pathologist or designee.
The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist.
