Location: Monroe, MI Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Full-time: Benefit Eligible In this role, you will: The Histology Department Supervisor, you'll be pivotal in overseeing the daily operations of our histology department.

Requirements

• A BS/BA degree
• A minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience in histology.
• HT or HTL (ASCP) preferred
• Or acceptable combination of experience and education

Responsibilities

• Assign, oversee, and review the work of team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
• Supervise and train staff, assess competencies, conduct interviews, and handle all hiring processes.
• Conduct annual employee performance evaluations, establish monthly one on one meetings to ensure team members have the necessities to meet/exceed their professional goals.
• Produce, monitor, and maintain productivity, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) metrics.
• Prepare and revise SOPs and manuals to maintain high standards of practice.
• Oversee and perform histology work, including grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, and quality assurance.
• Maintain all quality and service standards while adhering to the department budget.
• Validate methodologies and instrumentation, and prepare for laboratory inspections.
