About The Position

The House Manager position is a vital role responsible for overseeing the condition and cleanliness of various properties in the Marina, Carmel, and Carmel Valley areas. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining the homes in pristine condition for guests. The House Manager will be expected to arrive at the properties after guests have departed to conduct thorough inspections, ensuring that everything is in order and ready for the next visitors. This includes checking the overall condition of the house and ensuring that any necessary maintenance or repairs are reported promptly to the appropriate team members. In addition to inspections, the House Manager will be responsible for setting up welcome trays, filling coffee stations, and ensuring that food storage drawers are stocked with essential items such as tinfoil and baggies. Keeping the houses supplied with necessary items, including propane, is also a key responsibility. The House Manager will track and report any maintenance issues or damaged items to the team and insurance, ensuring that all concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Communication is crucial in this role, as the House Manager will need to coordinate with housekeepers regarding cleaning schedules and completion times. They will direct housekeepers on what needs to be touched up after their inspections and point out specific items that require attention during the cleaning process. Additionally, the House Manager will schedule vendors for services such as window cleaning, carpet cleaning, and chimney maintenance, ensuring that the exterior of the properties, including gardens and yards, is well-maintained. The House Manager will also be responsible for picking up and purchasing necessary items for the houses, subject to approval, and reviewing cleaning schedules to ensure that properties are appropriately scheduled for cleaning. Finally, before guests arrive, the House Manager will ensure that pictures and other items around the house are straightened and presented well, contributing to a welcoming environment for guests.
