About The Position

At ECS4Kids (formerly Episcopal Children’s Services), we honor young children’s immense potential by helping them enter school ready to learn. We cultivate lifelong learners by immersing children in enriching guided experiences and discovery-oriented approaches. Through programs like Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), Head Start, School Readiness, Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR), and more, our dedicated professionals work with families and caregivers throughout Florida to promote children’s well-being. These enable us to strengthen key areas including motor development, cognitive development, social and emotional development, language and communication skills, and problem-solving skills. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with young children and families.
  • Completion of Child Development Associate within one year of employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various data collections.
  • Must be comfortable with home visits and flexible scheduling.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Experience with diverse populations; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile coverage.
  • Satisfactory Driving Record (as outlined in Vehicle Driving Policy).
  • Complete 24 hours of in-service/professional development training hours each fiscal year (July- June).
  • Must have current First Aid and Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly home visits to distribute HIPPY activity packets and guide parents through instruction.
  • Support development in math, motor, literacy, language, and science domains.
  • Recruit families with children ages 2–5.
  • Maintain community resource connections and make referrals.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Participate in staff meetings, group meetings, community outreach, and training as required.
