About The Position

Capital Health is seeking a qualified candidate to accurately apply official coding conventions and rules established by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the assignment of procedural and diagnostic codes. The position involves reviewing surgical documentation for accurate assignment of ICD-10 diagnosis, current procedural terminology (CPT-4) codes, and modifiers. Additionally, the candidate will ensure appropriate coding of evaluation and management services when applicable. Offers for this position are contingent upon successful completion of the onboarding process and a pre-employment physical. Capital Health requires all applicants to have an annual flu vaccine prior to their start date, with exceptions for individuals with medical and religious exemptions.

Requirements

• Experience in medical coding with knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding systems.
• Familiarity with coding conventions and rules established by AMA and CMS.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA).
• Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in surgical coding.
