The outpatient coder is responsible for thorough review of clinical documentation and diagnostic results applicable to abstract data and appropriately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers for billing and reimbursement, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. This position commits to accurate medical coding for account types and/or service rendered to patients in the emergency department (ED), Same Day Surgeries (SDS), Ancillary (ANC), Oncology (ONC), Outpatient Rehab, Outpatient Psychiatric, and Interventional Radiology (IVR).
