About The Position

Burnett Medical Center is looking for a Health Information Manager/Privacy Officer. SHIFT & HOURS : Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm This position is benefit eligible including PTO, health, dental, vision, employer-paid life insurance, employer-paid short-term disability along with up to a 3% match in our 401k retirement plan.

Requirements

• One year minimum experience required in a Health Information Management department, including experience with medical record system keeping.
• One year minimum experience required coding ICD-10 in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of CPT and professional coding.
• Knowledge of privacy regulations.
• Current RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS credential required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, and aptitude to work with patients and their representatives under stressful situations.
• Ability to work efficiently with computers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working with Epic electronic medical record systems and data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages operational activities related to Health Information Management (HIM) including supervision of staff, record analysis, coding, abstracting, record completeness, retrieval/release and confidentiality and security of records.
• Makes sure training in the Health Information Department is up to date and plans the future direction as well as maintains policies and procedures.
• Serves as the Privacy Officer and provides privacy training and auditing.
• Supervises medical staff credentialing.
